Missouri, Here We Come!

This summer was the first time we decided to DRIVE to Missouri for summer vacation.  With Jaaten already in MO waiting for us (and for the record she was MISSING us by now LOL) it was only Jaafe and I with Hudson & Steel.  The boys were SO good on the drive.  They did not even ask to watch a movie...at all....the entire drive.  We couldn't believe it!  6.8.16

 We were not there a day before Hudson and Steel had their friend Braxton over to see all of the toys Grammie had waiting for them.  LOL!  6.11.16

 The kids loved being down at the lake this year, throwing rocks, fishing, etc.  We even got Jaaten a kayak to put around the cove after much begging. ;))) 6.14.16

 Jaafe, Jaaten and I went to Worlds of Fun one night...roller coasters, water rides...with my sweet friend, Brooke and her son.  OF course I didn't get a picture of all of us.  But I did get this picture of Jaaten on the Log Ride with Aiden.  I was scared to let them go alone!  They went about 5 times because there were no lines.  Awesome! 6.15.16

 Steel was the only one that wanted to go to the furniture store with me and Jaafe.  He was asleep by the time we got there!  6.17.16

 We spent a ton of our vacation time (too much looking back) working on the house while we were there.  The kids ALWAYS wanted to come with us but didn't always last. 6.21.16

Our friend Jim and his little dude, Travis, came to check out MO this year.  We took the kids to a fireworks show one evening.  We sat in the flatbed of Jaafe's truck and watched....hope they remember this stuff.; )  7.1.16

 Then we had to get ready for the big fireworks show at Grammie and Papa's house.  7.3.16

 The evening of before the 4th the kids lit their small fireworks in the driveway.  Steel gave in early though. 7.3.16

 4th of July morning!  The lake has a party in the morning every year with balloons, face painting, turtle races, lunch....fun!  We didn't find a turtle to get in the race though. ;/  Next year! 7.4.16

 Back to Grammie and Papa's in the afternoon for 4th of July party. ;)

 Papa helped the boys fish off our dock.  We will have to fish more with them next year. ;) 7.5.16

And just like that we were back in the truck....headed to AZ. 7.7.16

We stopped to eat at Cracker Barrel on the way home.  For those that know us well, we don't really ever eat out with the kids because they don't eat anything (except corndogs and cottage cheese) and they don't stay seated but they did great. ;)  Ready to be home!
